- Mal. 3:1, 6, 10 prove, 12
1Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.
... 6For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
10prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
... 12And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.
- Isa. 9:2, 6, 7, 10
2The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
... 6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
10The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
- Luke 11:9 I, 10, 14, 34 (to ;)
9I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
14¶ And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.
34The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light;
- Acts 14:8-11, 13-15, 19-22
8¶ And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:
9The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
10Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
11And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
... 13Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
14Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,
15And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
19¶ And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
20Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
21And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
22Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
- Acts 16:16-19, 23-26
16¶ And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
17The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
18And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
19¶ And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,
23And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely:
24Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
25¶ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
- Zech. 2:10, 13 (to :)
10¶ Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.
... 13Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord:
- James 3:17 the
17the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
- Ps. 46:1-3 (to 1st .), 4, 5, 10 (to :)
1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
... 4There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

3 If we wish to follow Christ, Truth, it must be in the way of God’s appointing. Jesus said, “He that believeth Loving God supremelyon me, the works that I do shall he do also.” 6He, who would reach the source and find the divine remedy for every ill, must not try to climb the hill of Science by some other road. All nature teaches God’s 9love to man, but man cannot love God supremely and set his whole affections on spiritual things, while loving the material or trusting in it more than in the spiritual.
12 We must forsake the foundation of material systems, however time-honored, if we would gain the Christ as our only Saviour. Not partially, but fully, the great 15healer of mortal mind is the healer of the body.
Saul of Tarsus beheld the way — the Christ, or Truth 24— only when his uncertain sense of right yielded to a Conversion of Saulspiritual sense, which is always right. Then the man was changed. Thought assumed a 27nobler outlook, and his life became more spiritual. He learned the wrong that he had done in persecuting Chris-tians, whose religion he had not understood, and in hu-30mility he took the new name of Paul. He beheld for the first time the true idea of Love, and learned a lesson in divine Science.
- SH 167:22
It is not wise to take a halt-ing and half-way position or to expect to work 24equally with Spirit and matter, Truth and error. There is but one way — namely, God and His idea — which leads to spiritual being. The scientific government of the 27body must be attained through the divine Mind. It is im-possible to gain control over the body in any other way. On this fundamental point, timid conservatism is abso -30lutely inadmissible. Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized.
- SH 103:9-16
12 On the other hand, Mind-science is wholly separate from any half-way impertinent knowledge, because Mind-science is of God and demonstrates the divine Principle, 15working out the purposes of good only. The maximum of good is the infinite God and His idea, the All-in-all.
- SH 274:23
Divine Science is absolute, and permits no half-way 24position in learning its Principle and rule — establishing Impossible partnershipit by demonstration. The conventional firm, called matter and mind, God never formed. 27Science and understanding, governed by the unerring and eternal Mind, destroy the imaginary copartnership, matter and mind, formed only to be destroyed in a manner and 30at a period as yet unknown. This suppositional partner-ship is already obsolete, for matter, examined in the light of divine metaphysics, disappears.
- SH 168:4-10, 15
If the scales are evenly adjusted, the removal of a single weight from either scale gives preponderance to the oppo-6Belief on the wrong sidesite. Whatever influence you cast on the side of matter, you take away from Mind, which would otherwise outweigh all else. Your belief militates 9against your health, when it ought to be enlisted on the side of health.
15 Because man-made systems insist that man becomes sick and useless, suffers and dies, all in consonance with The divine authoritythe laws of God, are we to believe it? Are 18we to believe an authority which denies God’s spiritual command relating to perfection, — an authority which Jesus proved to be false? He did the will of the 21Father. He healed sickness in defiance of what is called material law, but in accordance with God’s law, the law of Mind.
- SH 149:26-29
- SH 213:6
6 Mortal mind conceives of something as either liquid or solid, and then classifies it materially. Immortal and Good indefinablespiritual facts exist apart from this mortal and 9material conception. God, good, is self-exist-ent and self-expressed, though indefinable as a whole. Every step towards goodness is a departure from materi -12ality, and is a tendency towards God, Spirit. Material theories partially paralyze this attraction towards infinite and eternal good by an opposite attraction towards the 15finite, temporary, and discordant.
- SH 223:25-28
- SH 224:22, 31
A higher and more practical Christianity, demonstrat-ing justice and meeting the needs of mortals in sickness 24and in health, stands at the door of this age, knocking for admission. Will you open or close the door upon this angel visitant, who cometh in the quiet of meekness, as he 27came of old to the patriarch at noonday?
No power can withstand divine Love. What is this supposed power, which opposes itself to God? 225 225:1Whence cometh it? What is it that binds man with iron shackles to sin, sickness, and death? Whatever enslaves 3man is opposed to the divine government. Truth makes man free.
- SH 275:10-24, 26-32
To grasp the reality and order of being in its Science, you must begin by reckoning God as the divine Principle 12Divine synonyms of all that really is. Spirit, Life, Truth, Love, combine as one, — and are the Scriptural names for God. All substance, intelligence, wisdom, being, im-15mortality, cause, and effect belong to God. These are His attributes, the eternal manifestations of the infinite divine Principle, Love. No wisdom is wise but His 18 wisdom; no truth is true, no love is lovely, no life is Life but the divine; no good is, but the good God bestows.
Divine metaphysics, as revealed to spiritual understand-21ing, shows clearly that all is Mind, and that Mind is The divine completenessGod, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, — that is, all power, all presence, all Science. 24Hence all is in reality the manifestation of Mind.
The true understanding of God is spiritual. It robs the 27grave of victory. It destroys the false evidence that mis-leads thought and points to other gods, or other so-called powers, such as matter, disease, sin, and death, superior 30or contrary to the one Spirit.

Hymn 290: “Press on, press on, ye sons of light”
Hymn 510: “… understanding prayer is fully answered, When trustingly we turn to God aright”
Hymn 2: “A glorious day is dawning”
