  1. Gen. 1:27 God (to ;), 31 (to 1st .)

    27God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him;

31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.

  2. Ps. 4:3 2nd the, 4 commune (to 1st .), 5 put, 8

3the Lord will hear when I call unto him.

4 ... commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still.

5 ... put your trust in the Lord.

... 8I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

  3. Ps. 84:11

11For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

  4. Luke 2:8-10

8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

  5. Matt. 15:21-28, 30, 31

21Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

22And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

23But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

26But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

27And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

28Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

... 30And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:

31Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

  6. II Cor. 13:8 we, 9 this, 10, 11 Be

8we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

9 ... this also we wish, even your perfection.

10Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.

11 ... Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

  7. Luke 24:13-21 (to :), 25-27, 31, 32

13And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.

14And they talked together of all these things which had happened.

15And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

16But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

17And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?

18And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?

19And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

20And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

21But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel:

... 25Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

26Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

27And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

... 31And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

32And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

  8. Rom. 12:2 be, 5 we, 9 cleave

2be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

5 ... we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

9 ... cleave to that which is good.

  9. Ps. 107:1, 4-7, 20, 25, 26-29 their

1O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

... 4They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

5Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

6Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

7And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

... 20He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

... 25For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26 ... their soul is melted because of trouble.

27They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit’s end.

28Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

  10. Phil. 4:4, 7 the, 13

4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

7 ... the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

... 13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures
by Mary Baker Eddy

  1. SH 470:16 (only), 23-24

The children of God have but one Mind.

    21Man is the expression 24of God’s being.

  2. SH 216:11

The understanding that the Ego is Mind, and that 12there is but one Mind or intelligence, begins at once to Servants and mastersdestroy the errors of mortal sense and to supply the truth of immortal sense. This understand -15ing makes the body harmonious; it makes the nerves, bones, brain, etc., servants, instead of masters. If man is governed by the law of divine Mind, his body is in sub-18mission to everlasting Life and Truth and Love. The great mistake of mortals is to suppose that man, God’s image and likeness, is both matter and Spirit, both good 21and evil.

  3. SH 393:16-18

Be firm in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science man reflects God’s govern-18No pain in matterment.

  4. SH 493:26

Any sense of soul in matter is not the 27reality of being.

  5. SH 96:12-24

12    This material world is even now becoming the arena for conflicting forces. On one side there will be discord Arena of contestand dismay; on the other side there will be 15Science and peace. The breaking up of mate-rial beliefs may seem to be famine and pestilence, want and woe, sin, sickness, and death, which assume new 18phases until their nothingness appears. These disturb-ances will continue until the end of error, when all discord will be swallowed up in spiritual Truth.

21    Mortal error will vanish in a moral chemicalization. This mental fermentation has begun, and will continue until all errors of belief yield to understanding. Belief is 24changeable, but spiritual understanding is changeless.

  6. SH 503:20, 28

Immortal and divine Mind presents the idea of God: 21first, in light; second, in reflection; third, in spiritual and Mind’s idea faultlessimmortal forms of beauty and goodness. But this Mind creates no element nor symbol of 24discord and decay. God creates neither erring thought, mortal life, mutable truth, nor variable love.

God, Spirit, dwelling in infinite light and harmony 504 504:1from which emanates the true idea, is never reflected by aught but the good.

  7. SH 205:29-3

Denial of the one-30ness of Mind throws our weight into the scale, not of Spirit, God, good, but of matter.

When we fully understand our relation to the Divine, 206 206:1we can have no other Mind but His, — no other Love, wisdom, or Truth, no other sense of Life, and no con-3sciousness of the existence of matter or error.

  8. SH 249:12-16, 18-19

12    Mind is not the author of matter, and the creator of ideas is not the creator of illusions. Either there is no omnipotence, or omnipotence is the only power. God is 15the infinite, and infinity never began, will never end, and includes nothing unlike God.

18    Life is, like Christ, “the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever.”

  9. SH 301:20-23

The belief that man has any other 21substance, or mind, is not spiritual and breaks the First Commandment, Thou shalt have one God, one Mind.

  10. SH 400:22-28

Mortal mind rules all that is mortal. We see in the body 24the images of this mind, even as in optics we see painted on the retina the image which becomes visible to the senses. The action of so-called mortal mind must be 27destroyed by the divine Mind to bring out the harmony of being.

  11. SH 191:16-25, 32

The human thought must free itself from self-imposed Spiritual freedommateriality and bondage. It should no longer 18ask of the head, heart, or lungs: What are man’s prospects for life? Mind is not helpless. Intelli-gence is not mute before non-intelligence.

21    By its own volition, not a blade of grass springs up, not a spray buds within the vale, not a leaf unfolds its fair outlines, not a flower starts from its cloistered cell.

24    The Science of being reveals man and immortality as based on Spirit.

Mind, God, sends forth the aroma of Spirit, 192 192:1the atmosphere of intelligence. The belief that a pulpy substance under the skull is mind is a mockery of intelli-3gence, a mimicry of Mind.

  12. SH 423:8, 18

The Christian Scientist, understanding scientifically 9that all is Mind, commences with mental causation, the Scientific correctivetruth of being, to destroy the error. This cor-rective is an alterative, reaching to every part 12of the human system. According to Scripture, it searches “the joints and marrow,” and it restores the harmony of man.

The metaphysician, making Mind his basis of operation irrespective of matter and regarding the truth and harmony of being as superior to 21error and discord, has rendered himself strong, instead of weak, to cope with the case; and he proportionately strengthens his patient with the stimulus of courage and 24conscious power. Both Science and consciousness are now at work in the economy of being according to the law of Mind, which ultimately asserts its absolute supremacy.

  13. SH 368:24-27

Because matter has no consciousness or Ego, it cannot act; its conditions are illusions, and these false conditions are the 27source of all seeming sickness.

  14. SH 275:31-11

Truth, spiritually discerned, is scientifically understood. It casts out error and heals the sick.

    276

276:1    Having one God, one Mind, unfolds the power that heals the sick, and fulfils these sayings of Scripture, “I 3Universal brotherhood am the Lord that healeth thee,” and “I have found a ransom.” When the divine precepts are understood, they unfold the foundation of fellowship, 6in which one mind is not at war with another, but all have one Spirit, God, one intelligent source, in accordance with the Scriptural command: “Let this Mind be in you, 9which was also in Christ Jesus.” Man and his Maker are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness is cognizant only of the things of God.

  15. SH 256:2

256:1Advancing to a higher plane of ac-3No material creationtion, thought rises from the material sense to the spiritual, from the scholastic to the in-spirational, and from the mortal to the immortal. All 6things are created spiritually. Mind, not matter, is the creator. Love, the divine Principle, is the Father and Mother of the universe, including man.

  16. SH 144:20, 27

Truth, and 21not corporeal will, is the divine power which says to disease, “Peace, be still.”

27When the Science of being is universally understood, every man will be his own physician, and Truth will be the universal panacea.

  17. SH 254:31

Pilgrim on earth, thy home is heaven; stranger, thou art the guest of God.
