The Bible
  1. Gen. 1:1, 3, 4 (to :), 12, 16, 18 4th and, 21, 25, 27, 31 (to 1st .)

    1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

    ... 3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

    4And God saw the light, that it was good:

    12And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

    16And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

    18 ... and God saw that it was good.

    ... 21And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

    25And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

    27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

    31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.

  2. Ps. 24:1, 2, 9, 10 (to 1st .)

    1The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

    2For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

    ... 9Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

    10Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.

  3. Ps. 25:4, 5 on, 9 2nd the, 15, 22

    4Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

    5 ... on thee do I wait all the day.

    9 ... the meek will he teach his way.

    ... 15Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

    ... 22Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

  4. Matt. 14:14

    14And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

  5. Matt. 15:29-31

    29And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.

    30And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:

    31Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

  6. Luke 17:11-14

    11And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

    12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:

    13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

    14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

  7. Mark 4:36-40

    36And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

    37And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

    38And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

    39And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

    40And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

  8. Mark 6:7, 13

    7And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;

    ... 13And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

  9. Mark 16:15 Go, 17 (to 1st ;), 18 3rd they

    15Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

    ... 17And these signs shall follow them that believe;

    18 ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

  10. John 4:35

    35Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

  11. John 14:12 (to 2nd ;), 16, 17 (to 1st ;)

    12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;

    16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

    17Even the Spirit of truth;

  12. Ps. 139:7-13 (to :), 14, 17, 18

    7Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

    8If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

    9If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

    10Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

    11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

    12Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

    13For thou hast possessed my reins:

    ... 14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

    ... 17How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

    18If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures
by Mary Baker Eddy

  1. SH 138:27-30

    27    Our Master said to every follower: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature! . . . Healthful theologyHeal the sick! . . . Love thy neighbor as 30thyself!”

  2. SH 494:30-3

    30    Our Master cast out devils (evils) and healed the sick. It should be said of his followers also, that they cast fear and all evil out of themselves and others and heal the sick. 495 495:1God will heal the sick through man, whenever man is Followers of Jesusgoverned by God. Truth casts out error now 3as surely as it did nineteen centuries ago.

  3. SH 394:28-29

        We should remember that Life is God, and that God Arguing wronglyis omnipotent.

  4. SH 209:1-9

    Man, being immortal, has a perfect indestructible life. It is the mortal belief which makes 3the body discordant and diseased in proportion as igno-rance, fear, or human will governs mortals.

        Mind, supreme over all its formations and governing 6them all, is the central sun of its own systems of ideas, Allness of Truththe life and light of all its own vast creation; and man is tributary to divine Mind. The 9material and mortal body or mind is not the man.

  5. SH 208:25 (only)

        Mind, not matter, is causation.

  6. SH 380:32-1

        Every law of matter or the body, supposed to govern 381 381:1man, is rendered null and void by the law of Life, God.

  7. SH 381:15-21, 27-4

    God is the lawmaker, but He is not the author of barbarous codes. In infinite Life and Love there is no sickness, sin, nor 18death, and the Scriptures declare that we live, move, and have our being in the infinite God.

        Think less of the enactments of mortal mind, and you 21will sooner grasp man’s God-given dominion. 27Let us banish sickness as an outlaw, and abide by the rule of perpetual harmony, — God’s law. It is man’s moral right to annul an unjust sentence, a sentence never 30inflicted by divine authority.

        Christ Jesus overruled the error which would impose penalties for transgressions of the physical laws of 382 382:1health; he annulled supposed laws of matter, opposed Begin rightlyto the harmonies of Spirit, lacking divine au-3thority and having only human approval for their sanction.

  8. SH 135:6-8, 12-15, 26

    The miracle introduces no disorder, but unfolds the primal order, establishing the Science of God’s unchangeable law.

    12This is “the beauty of holiness,” that when Truth heals Fear and sickness identicalthe sick, it casts out evils, and when Truth casts out the evil called disease, it heals the 15sick.

    Christianity as Jesus taught it was not 27a creed, nor a system of ceremonies, nor a special gift from a ritualistic Jehovah; but it was the demonstration of divine Love casting out error and healing the sick, 30not merely in the name of Christ, or Truth, but in demon-stration of Truth, as must be the case in the cycles of divine light.

  9. SH 480:13, 26-3

    Harmonious action proceeds from Spirit, God. Inharmony has no 15Principle; its action is erroneous and presupposes man to be in matter. Inharmony would make matter the cause as well as the effect of intelligence, or Soul, thus 18attempting to separate Mind from God.

        The Bible declares: “All things were made by Him 27 [the divine Word]; and without Him was not anything Vapor and nothingnessmade that was made.” This is the eternal verity of divine Science. If sin, sickness, and 30death were understood as nothingness, they would dis-appear. As vapor melts before the sun, so evil would vanish before the reality of good. One must hide the 481 481:1other. How important, then, to choose good as the reality! Man is tributary to God, Spirit, and to nothing 3else.

  10. SH 395:6-10

    6    Like the great Exemplar, the healer should speak to disease as one having authority over it, leaving Soul to Divine authoritymaster the false evidences of the corporeal 9senses and to assert its claims over mortal-ity and disease.

  11. SH 396:14, 26

        The refutation of the testimony of material sense is 15not a difficult task in view of the conceded falsity of this False testimony refutedtestimony. The refutation becomes arduous, not because the testimony of sin or disease is 18true, but solely on account of the tenacity of belief in its truth, due to the force of education and the overwhelm-ing weight of opinions on the wrong side, — all teaching 21that the body suffers, as if matter could have sensation.

    Keep distinctly in 27thought that man is the offspring of God, not of man; that man is spiritual, not material; that Soul is Spirit, outside of matter, never in it, never giving the body life 30and sensation. It breaks the dream of disease to under-stand that sickness is formed by the human mind, not by matter nor by the divine Mind.

  12. SH 134:21

    21    The true Logos is demonstrably Christian Science, the natural law of harmony which overcomes discord, — not Basis of miraclesbecause this Science is supernatural or pre-24ternatural, nor because it is an infraction of divine law, but because it is the immutable law of God, good. Jesus said: “I knew that Thou hearest me al-27ways;” and he raised Lazarus from the dead, stilled the tempest, healed the sick, walked on the water. There is divine authority for believing in the superiority of 30spiritual power over material resistance.

  13. SH 76:18-26

    18    Suffering, sinning, dying beliefs are unreal. When divine Science is universally understood, they will have no power over man, for man is immortal and lives by 21divine authority.

        The sinless joy, — the perfect harmony and immortality of Life, possessing unlimited divine beauty and goodness 24Immaterial pleasurewithout a single bodily pleasure or pain, — constitutes the only veritable, indestructible man, whose being is spiritual.

  14. SH 471:17-19

    Man is, and forever has been, God’s re-18flection. God is infinite, therefore ever present, and there is no other power nor presence.

  15. SH 69:13

    Spiritually to understand that there is but one creator, God, unfolds all creation, confirms the Scrip-15tures, brings the sweet assurance of no parting, no pain, and of man deathless and perfect and eternal.

  16. SH 470:32

        The relations of God and man, divine Principle and 471 471:1idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine 3order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He cre-ates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history.

  17. SH 521:5-6, 12 (only)

    All that is made is 6Spiritual narrativethe work of God, and all is good.

    12    The harmony and immortality of man are intact.
