The Bible
  1. Ps. 121:1-4, 6, 8

    1I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

    2My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

    3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

    4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

    ... 6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

    ... 8The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

  2. Ps. 91:2-4, 9-11

    2I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

    3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

    4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

    ... 9Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

    10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

    11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

  3. Gen. 21:9-18 (to ;), 19, 20 (to ;)

    9And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.

    10Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.

    11And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son.

    12And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

    13And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

    14And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beer–sheba.

    15And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.

    16And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.

    17And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

    18Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand;

    19And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

    20And God was with the lad;

  4. Isa. 66:13

    13As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

  5. Mark 16:15 Go, 17

    15Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

    ... 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

  6. Matt. 11:28

    28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

  7. Matt. 12:15 and, 22, 23

    15and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

    22Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

    23And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

  8. Heb. 4:9, 12, 13 (to :)

    9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

    ... 12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

    13Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight:

  9. Rev. 21:1, 3, 6

    1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

    ... 3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

    ... 6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

  10. Isa. 33:5, 20-22, 24

    5The Lord is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

    20Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

    21But there the glorious Lord will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.

    22For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us.

    ... 24And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.

  11. I Pet. 5:10 the (to 2nd ,), 10 make

    10the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, ... make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures
by Mary Baker Eddy
  1. SH 256:7

    Love, the divine Principle, is the Father and Mother of the universe, including man.

  2. SH 507:3-7

    Spirit duly feeds and clothes every object, as it appears in the line of spiritual creation, thus tenderly expressing the father-6hood and motherhood of God. Spirit names and blesses all.

  3. SH 521:5-6, 12 (only)

    All that is made is 6Spiritual narrativethe work of God, and all is good.

    12    The harmony and immortality of man are intact.

  4. SH 476:9-15, 17-18, 32

    God is the Principle of man, and man is the idea of God. Hence man is not mortal nor material. Mortals will disappear, and im-12mortals, or the children of God, will appear as the only and eternal verities of man. Mortals are not fallen chil-dren of God. They never had a perfect state of being, 15which may subsequently be regained. ... Mortality is finally swallowed 18up in immortality.

    Jesus beheld in Science the per-477477:1fect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour 3saw God’s own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick. Thus Jesus taught that the kingdom of God is intact, universal, and that man is pure and holy. 6Man is not a material habitation for Soul; he is himself spiritual. Soul, being Spirit, is seen in nothing imperfect nor material.

  5. SH 288:3, 14, 27-28, 31-1

    3    The suppositional warfare between truth and error is only the mental conflict between the evidence of the spir-The great conflictitual senses and the testimony of the material 6senses, and this warfare between the Spirit and flesh will settle all questions through faith in and the un-derstanding of divine Love.

    The 15lightnings and thunderbolts of error may burst and flash till the cloud is cleared and the tumult dies away in the distance. Then the raindrops of divinity refresh the 18earth. As St. Paul says: “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God” (of Spirit).

    27    Science reveals the glorious possibilities of immortal The Christ-element man, forever unlimited by the mortal senses.

        The eternal Truth destroys what mortals seem to have learned from error, and man’s real existence as a child 289 289:1of God comes to light.

  6. SH 92:32

        Do you say the time has not yet come in which to 93 93:1recognize Soul as substantial and able to control the body? Remember Jesus, who nearly nineteen centuries 3The age’s privilegeago demonstrated the power of Spirit and said, “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also,” and who also said, “But the hour 6cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth.” “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of sal-9vation,” said Paul.

  7. SH 95:30-32

    30Material sense does not unfold the facts of existence; but spiritual sense lifts human consciousness into eternal Truth.

  8. SH 96:4-5

        Love will finally mark the hour of harmony, and spir-itualization will follow, for Love is Spirit.

  9. SH 572:19-21 (to ;)

         In Revelation xxi. 1 we read: —

    And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first 21heaven and the first earth were passed away;

  10. SH 573:13-17, 31

        Accompanying this scientific consciousness was an-other revelation, even the declaration from heaven, su-15Nearness of Deitypreme harmony, that God, the divine Principle of harmony, is ever with men, and they are His people. ... When you read this, remember Jesus’ words, “The kingdom of 574 574:1God is within you.” This spiritual consciousness is therefore a present possibility.

  11. SH 234:4-12

        Whatever inspires with wisdom, Truth, or Love — be it song, sermon, or Science — blesses the human family 6Crumbs of comfortwith crumbs of comfort from Christ’s table, feeding the hungry and giving living waters to the thirsty.

    9    We should become more familiar with good than with evil, and guard against false beliefs as watchfully as we Hospitality to health and goodbar our doors against the approach of thieves 12and murderers.

  12. SH 303:16, 28

    Divine Science lays the axe at the root of the illu-sion that life, or mind, is formed by or is in the material 18body, and Science will eventually destroy this illusion through the self-destruction of all error and the beatified understanding of the Science of Life.

    Spiritual man is the image or idea of God, an idea which cannot be lost nor sep-30arated from its divine Principle. When the evidence before the material senses yielded to spiritual sense, the apostle declared that nothing could alienate him from 304 304:1God, from the sweet sense and presence of Life and Truth.

  13. SH 409:20-23

    The real man is 21spiritual and immortal, but the mortal and imperfect so-called “children of men” are counterfeits from the beginning, to be laid aside for the pure reality.

  14. SH 530:5-6, 7

        In divine Science, man is sustained by God, the divine 6Principle of being. ... Knowing this, Jesus once said, “Take no thought for your life, 9what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink,” — presuming not on the prerogative of his creator, but recognizing God, the Father and Mother of all, as able to feed and clothe 12man as He doth the lilies.

  15. SH 470:21-24, 32

    21    God is the creator of man, and, the divine Principle of man remaining perfect, the divine idea or reflection, Indestructible relationshipman, remains perfect. Man is the expression 24of God’s being.

        The relations of God and man, divine Principle and 471 471:1idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine 3order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He cre-ates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history.

  16. SH 322:3-7

    3    When understanding changes the standpoints of life and intelligence from a material to a spiritual basis, we shall Standpoints changedgain the reality of Life, the control of Soul over 6sense, and we shall perceive Christianity, or Truth, in its divine Principle.

  17. SH 323:9

    Beholding the infinite tasks of truth, we pause, — wait on God. Then we push onward, until boundless thought walks enraptured, and concep-12tion unconfined is winged to reach the divine glory.
