PLEASE NOTE: Special parking arrangements
Yes, we will hold our annual Thanksgiving service as usual on November 28. However, please note that Foothill Blvd in front of our building will be closed to all vehicular traffic (i.e. no Foothill car access and no Foothill parking) because of the Thanksgiving Day Run sponsored by the La Cañada Community Center and the City.
Therefore, we need different driving and parking arrangements from the usual, such as parking around the corner on or near Commonwealth Ave. Here are suggested details:
Traveling from the west:
- Take the 210 freeway west to the Gould exit.
- Turn left onto Gould to the first stop sign which is Houseman.
- Turn left onto Houseman.
- At the end of Houseman (a T-junction) turn left onto Oakwood.
- Proceed down Oakwood and cross over the freeway.
- IMMEDIATELY turn right onto La Porte (sign is hard to see and street looks like an ally).
- At the T-junction turn left from La Porte onto Commonwealth.
- Just before reaching Foothill (which will be closed and blocked), parking may be available in the Chase bank parking lot (on the left) or in the Credit Union parking lot (on the right). There also may be parking available on the street.
- Then walk to Foothill Blvd and turn right (west) along Foothill. We are a short distance along at 827 Foothill, which is the second building on the right beyond the Credit Union.
Traveling from the east:
- From the 210 fwy take the Foothill Blvd exit.
- Turn left onto Foothill Blvd and continue to Gould
- Turn right onto Gould to the first stop sign which is Houseman
- Turn left onto Houseman.
- At the end of Houseman (a T-junction) turn left onto Oakwood.
- Proceed down Oakwood and cross over freeway.
