    Does a law of God produce sick-21Mental narcoticsness, and can man put that law under his feet by healing sickness?

  2. SH 182:18-26, 30

        Mind’s government of the body must supersede the so-called laws of matter. Obedience to material law pre-No material lawvents full obedience to spiritual law, — the law 21which overcomes material conditions and puts matter under the feet of Mind. Mortals entreat the di-vine Mind to heal the sick, and forthwith shut out the aid 24of Mind by using material means, thus working against themselves and their prayers and denying man’s God-given ability to demonstrate Mind’s sacred power.

        To admit that sickness is a condition over which God has no control, is to presuppose that omnipotent power is powerless on some occasions. The law of Christ, or 183 183:1Truth, makes all things possible to Spirit; but the so-called laws of matter would render Spirit of no avail, and 3demand obedience to materialistic codes, thus departing from the basis of one God, one lawmaker. To suppose that God constitutes laws of inharmony is a mistake; dis-6cords have no support from nature or divine law, however much is said to the contrary.

  3. SH 134:21-26

        The true Logos is demonstrably Christian Science, the natural law of harmony which overcomes discord, — not Basis of miraclesbecause this Science is supernatural or pre-24ternatural, nor because it is an infraction of divine law, but because it is the immutable law of God, good.

    Material sense does not unfold the facts of existence; but spiritual sense lifts human consciousness into eternal Truth. Humanity advances 96 96:1slowly out of sinning sense into spiritual understanding; unwillingness to learn all things rightly, binds Christen-3dom with chains.

    Because mortals believe in material laws and reject the Science of Mind, this does not make materiality first and 63 63:1the superior law of Soul last.

This is an element of 6progress, and progress is the law of God, whose law de-mands of us only what we can certainly fulfil.

    Man 27Higher statuteswas not created from a material basis, nor bidden to obey material laws which Spirit never made; his province is in spiritual statutes, in the higher 30law of Mind.

  16. SH 273:18-24

    Man is harmonious when governed by Soul. Hence the importance of understanding the truth of being, which reveals the laws of spiritual existence.

    21    God never ordained a material law to annul the spiritual law. If there were such a material law, it would oppose Spiritual law the only lawthe supremacy of Spirit, God, and impugn the 24wisdom of the creator.

        The facts of divine Science should be admitted, — although the evidence as to these facts is not supported 15by evil, by matter, or by material sense, — because the evidence that God and man coexist is fully sustained by spiritual sense. Man is, and forever has been, God’s re-18flection. God is infinite, therefore ever present, and there is no other power nor presence. Hence the spirit-uality of the universe is the only fact of creation.
