Wednesday Meeting Readings
- Ps. 40:8
8I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
- Ps. 19:7-11, 14
7The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
... 14Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
- Ps. 119:1, 18, 33, 34, 44, 45, 55, 72, 77 (to :), 92, 97, 142, 165, 174
1Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
18Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
33Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.
34Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
44So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.
45And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
55I have remembered thy name, O Lord, in the night, and have kept thy law.
72The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.
77Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live:
92Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.
97O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
142Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
165Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
174I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my delight.
- Jer. 31:33 this, 34 (to 2nd :)
this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord:
- Rom. 7:14 we (to :), 22-25 I
we know that the law is spiritual:
... I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
- Rom. 8:1, 2, 4 the, 6 (to ;), 7, 9 ye (to 1st .), 35 (to 1st ?), 38 I, 39
1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
... the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
... 6For to be carnally minded is death;
... 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
... ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
... 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
... I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Rom. 10:4 Christ
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Mind’s government of the body must supersede the so-called laws of matter. Obedience to material law pre-No material lawvents full obedience to spiritual law, — the law 21which overcomes material conditions and puts matter under the feet of Mind. Mortals entreat the di-vine Mind to heal the sick, and forthwith shut out the aid 24of Mind by using material means, thus working against themselves and their prayers and denying man’s God-given ability to demonstrate Mind’s sacred power.
To admit that sickness is a condition over which God has no control, is to presuppose that omnipotent power is powerless on some occasions. The law of Christ, or 183 183:1Truth, makes all things possible to Spirit; but the so-called laws of matter would render Spirit of no avail, and 3demand obedience to materialistic codes, thus departing from the basis of one God, one lawmaker. To suppose that God constitutes laws of inharmony is a mistake; dis-6cords have no support from nature or divine law, however much is said to the contrary.

Every day makes its demands upon us for higher proofs rather than professions of Christian power. 3Profession and proofThese proofs consist solely in the destruction of sin, sickness, and death by the power of Spirit, as Jesus destroyed them. This is an element of 6progress, and progress is the law of God, whose law de-mands of us only what we can certainly fulfil.

Man is harmonious when governed by Soul. Hence the importance of understanding the truth of being, which reveals the laws of spiritual existence.
21 God never ordained a material law to annul the spiritual law. If there were such a material law, it would oppose Spiritual law the only lawthe supremacy of Spirit, God, and impugn the 24wisdom of the creator.
- SH 471:13-20
The facts of divine Science should be admitted, — although the evidence as to these facts is not supported 15by evil, by matter, or by material sense, — because the evidence that God and man coexist is fully sustained by spiritual sense. Man is, and forever has been, God’s re-18flection. God is infinite, therefore ever present, and there is no other power nor presence. Hence the spirit-uality of the universe is the only fact of creation.
